The rest in restlessness
“In rest we reestablish the goals that make us more generous, more courageous, more of an invitation, someone we want to remember, and someone others would want to remember too.”
Recognising that our restlessness may cause us to go into overdrive, perhaps losing ourselves in the process, this sentence from David Whyte’s writing (Consolations, 2015) may feel helpfully arresting.
Take a moment to consider:
When and how do you truly rest?
What is your experience of rest and what it offers?
What might helpfully flow into your leadership as a result of these inquiries?
