We are delighted to partner with long-standing community member, Bel Jacobs, to share The Empathy Project’s new documentary with this online screening and community inquiry.
As we move deeper into climate and ecological breakdown, new, more compassionate ways of being in this world will be more necessary than ever. The Empathy Project believes that, if we place the lives of others (the animals we have ‘othered’) alongside our own, we will set in place the restorative cultures that will support us, the natural world, her animals and our children, in difficult futures.
The film interviews 12 activists. Charting their deeply personal journeys into animal advocacy, it powerfully reframes human-animal relationships.
After watching the film, we will lead a gentle and interactive process to support us all as participants to digest and integrate the material. It goes without saying that we will all have our own experience of the film. Rather than an expert panel led discussion, you will be invited to sit alongside others, exploring and sense making together. Our wish is that everyone is supported to feel, explore and share more of their context, challenges and joys with regard to their relationship with animals, with other species and with the natural world.
Accessibility: The session will be held online. Full joining instructions with Zoom link will be emailed to you immediately after booking. Please make sure to check your Junk folder if you do not receive anything! The session will include one 5 minute comfort break approximately half way through.

If more than one person is joining from a single place, please ensure you enter the session on individual devices (1 person, 1 screen) so that you are able to engage with other participants as intended.
